The artist

Paco Sainz, (1954 Bilbao) currently lives and works in the mountains of Ahillas, Valencia. The commitment and dedication of Sainz to his isolated and quiet labours in the village of Ahillas allows him to create an intense work. The sculptures of Sainz ply the waters of mankind’s preoccupations, which are the same as those of art: love and death; the light and underside of life, the passage of time, in short, the mystery of existence.

The sculptures of Paco Sáinz take the most solid materials in nature: stone and wood, and engages them in a dialogue in a simultaneously audacious, agile and subtle encounter. Sainz has the ability to know how to associate the different materials: organic shapes with geometric forms, sensual textures with distant textures, warm hues with shady colours. The final result appears as a harmonious piece, fruit of the energetic and patient process carried out by the author. The works of art of Sainz have natural freshness, sensuality of the senses, and the depth of feelings. Sainz has shown his work in many solo and group exhibitions in Illinois, Chicago, Miami, Madrid, Cuenca, Valencia and now in Marbella.
